International Yoga Day and Summer Solstice are approaching. The 21st of June is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and in Hindu calendars the second full moon after summer solstice is known as Guru Poornima, a day of respect for all gurus (guides rather than teachers). It’s the day when the first yogi – Lord Shiva – is said to have begun spreading the knowledge of yoga to the rest of humankind, making him the first yoga guru. His first student was Goddess Parvati, his companion who became a guru too, known as uday nath.
For this year’s International Yoga Day we’re offering a free online yoga class via Zoom on Saturday 21st June 11.15 am – 12 noon. If you miss this, get in touch anyway, because yoga is not just about one day but every day. 🥰 And if live online isn’t your thing, there are hundreds of yoga classes on our YouTube channel and you’re guaranteed to find a class that doesn’t just fit your level but also works within the time you can spare. ✨ How some stress can be beneficial for growth when followed by recovery;
✨ Why resilience is more than just pushing through;
✨ How bespoke staff optimisation programmes can meet diverse needs and cultural contexts.
